THE NEW STANDARD BY CALLUM FRASER
Architecture & Interiors
From Melbourne’s pre-eminent architecture practice Elenberg Fraser comes The New Standard, by practice founder and director Callum Fraser. Distilling years of experience and insight, The New Standard creates an intelligent new model of architecture in which the components of a building are continually improved and refined.
This archetypal approach resolves to embrace technology, improve quality of life, enhance community ties and develop habitats of distinct personal enjoyment. Realised through direct relationships with manufacturers, The New Standard takes an iterative strategy to realising a perfect model for living.

This attention to detail is supported through a commitment to quality and to long-term relationships that allow shared values to drive positive outcomes. With over 30 years experience, Headland Properties carries a nuanced understanding of Melbourne’s residential and commercial property development landscape. Each of its projects underscores a commitment to realising finetuned outcomes. Headland Properties’ long-term strategic vision for the 31 Coventry Street project has manifested in a decade spent acquiring and mobilising the site. The organisation has a deep appreciation for Melbourne’s Domain Precinct, being active in the area over the last two decades. Headland’s long-term belief in the precinct is reflected in the patient consolidation of sites including the benchmark setting 50 Albert Road and now 31 Coventry Street.
Openwork is Melbourne’s leading landscape architecture practice. Undertaking projects, research and speculation into public space, Openwork delivers site-specific responses that add further depth of meaning to built environment outcomes. At 31 Coventry Street, Openwork director Mark Jacques draws on the surrounding green gardens of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Kings Domain to create a series of eclectic ecologies and landscapes throughout the building’s shared spaces and outlooks. Weaving greenery into the building blurs the boundaries between public and private realms and results in an environment that nurtures and supports residents’ holistic health and wellbeing.
Software & Integration
Wumbo provides an in-building app specifically developed for The New Standard. The custom software draws on Wumbo director Michael Lee’s 20 years of experience in the real estate industry finding solutions for complex issues. A smartphone application provides a single platform from which residents can organise food and shopping delivery, manage strata commitments, access building controls and control room presets. The result is a system that empowers residents to live seamlessly within a closely connected building.

Led by company director Laurent Deleu, ADP ensures 31 Coventry Street meets its net-zero carbon commitment through analysing the building’s design, consulting on its operational structures and providing ongoing observation. By minimising water and power consumption, 31 Coventry Street achieves a 7.5 NatHERS rating and as a result, sets a blueprint for future sustainability in both residential and commercial building development.
